Work With Us

At Freedom Centre, we believe in seeing people step into their God-given calling. We’re a team made up of people from many different backgrounds, walks of life and varied testimonies — yet we’re united by one mission: to see people across New Zealand and the nations encounter the living God, be equipped to walk in His truth and power, and released to bringing freedom and breakthrough wherever they go.

Everything we do is grounded in Scripture and shaped by our core values. These foundations keep us strong and focused as we serve our church and our wider community. Before you begin the application process with us, we encourage you to visit our website (www.freedomcentre.nz). Please take time to read through our Beliefs and our Honour Code to make sure you’re in alignment with who we are and what we stand for.

We’re excited at the possibility of you joining us as we build the Kingdom together!

Job Description

We’re looking for a creative and detail-driven Visual Communications Designer to join our Communications & Marketing Team. 3. Digital Media
    • Develop website visuals, thumbnails, promotions and announcement posts and slides, and e-newsletter squares, ensuring consistency with Freedom Centre’s branding and message.
    • Stay up to date with websites, mailchimp and google analytics, making adjustments for better exposure and reach.

  6. Merchandise
    • Develop designs for Freedom Centre merchandise, ensuring all items are cohesive with the organisation’s branding, visual style and mission.

Requirements

Must Haves

  • Active participation in a church (we look for a lifestyle of inviting people to church, small group attendance, serving, generosity, and prioritising community)
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Great time management skills & ability to work under pressure.
  • Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Figma).
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Proactive and excellent ability to problem-solve.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Creative mindset and strong storytelling skills.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience working in a non-profit environment and/or ministry setting.

What to Expect

Day to Day

  • We’re a Sunday-Thursday work environment.  Monday-Thursday, we’re in the office (9AM - 5PM); on Sunday, we’re supporting the weekend worship experience either directly in our roles or by choosing a weekly serving opportunity at one of our Freedom Centre services.
  • There’s a lot to accomplish each week, so we’re pretty fast-paced.  We’re also not afraid to pivot a strategy or project quickly to meet the needs of the weekend - adaptability is a key competence for us.
  • Yes, we work hard.  But we’re good at playing hard, too.  We’re a creative staff, so there’s no shortage of activities around our offices to have some fun!
  • You can’t help but grow on our staff.  You’ll be around some incredible people.  Personal development opportunities will be all around you, both in structured and unstructured ways.
  • We expect you to be disciplined in your spiritual practices - be in your Bible, spend time with the Lord in prayer, meditate on and apply the weekly sermon.
  • Bring your full self to every project, conversation, and initiative at hand.
