At Freedom, our heart is to see people across New Zealand and the nations encounter the living God, be equipped to walk in His truth and power, and released to bringing freedom and breakthrough wherever they go. We believe revival is not just coming — it’s here, and we are honoured to play our part in what God is doing in this generation.
Freedom Centre New Zealand was established in 2012, out of the Freedom Centre Melbourne location. It began as a gathering in a small room at the Tauranga Racecourse.
In 2013, Adem and Grace came to New Zealand from Melbourne, Australia originally to start a ministry school at the small church plant, by the end of the year they were appointed the pastors of Freedom Centre Tauranga and have witnessed the church go from strength to strength. The church has not only grown in numbers, but also in testimonies of God’s transformational power. Freedom Centre is unapologetically a presence driver church where people encounter God.
Freedom Centre now gathers in, Tauranga and Christchurch, as well as having watch parties in multiple places around New Zealand. With an increasing number of Small Groups and our thriving Freedom School of Ministry we are seeing God do incredible things across the ministry. All of this is built on our vision - Encounter, Equip, Release.
Freedom Centre NZ is part of the Freedom Ministries International family — a global network of churches, schools, hospitals, clinics, and Bible colleges across Australia, Vanuatu, New Caledonia, the Solomon Islands, and Rwanda.
We live in shifting times but are rooted in eternal truths, from the Word of God. Here at Freedom Centre we are guided by certain foundational beliefs and shaping values.
Encounter
We believe everyone from every generation needs an encounter with Jesus. We need the presence of the Lord that brings us into life changing encounters with Jesus. When we meet with Him our lives are transformed by God in a supernatural way. We as a church want to facilitate public encounters with Jesus however we can.
Equip
We want everyone in the church to be equipped with the knowledge of Christ and how to use their giftings. We not only want to teach and grow your relationship with Jesus, we want to help you be equipped and raised up into all God has created you to be. Practically we facilitate this through; Equip Nights, New Believers ministry, the Essentials course, Freedom School of Ministry and Fortnightly Small Groups.
Release
Our heart and greatest passion is to bring people in a place of encounter, equip them for the work of the ministry and release them to serve God. Being released might look like serving on a team, building business, ministering in your workplace, church planting or even raising a family. We have all been created with God-given purpose and we want to champion each person at Freedom Centre to step into theirs!
All that matters is that He shows up. From our worship to our service we do it with His presence in mind. When God is in the room, all kinds of life change happens.
The kingdom of God is not a business, it is a family of sons and daughters living in relationship with their heavenly Father. The Church is a covenant family.
Every believer is called to make disciples. It may look different for everyone, but one thing remains, we want real relationships that create real disciples who then go and make more disciples.
Adem and Grace are the Senior Pastors of Freedom Centre and have been leading the way for the past 12 years. Pastor Adem got saved from a life of crime and drugs and had a radical transformation through the power of Jesus. Pastor Grace was raised in the church and experienced transformation from church being a religious experience to a relationship with Jesus.
They both carry the fire of the Holy Spirit and are super passionate about seeing people have a life-transforming experience through Jesus. They moved to Tauranga from Melbourne, Australia and had their three kids; Eva, Eliana and Josiah all in Aotearoa. As a family, they love seeing God's kingdom expanded!
